Our Paediatric Orthopaedic Consultant diagnoses and treats injuries or longstanding conditions affecting growing bones, joints or muscles. This may include conditions which a child may have been born with or acquired later in life.
We always start by meeting and assessing your child before deciding if any further investigation or treatment is required. We will only consider surgical options if this is absolutely necessary and will talk you through each step. Your child’s care always comes first.

About Mr Stephen Ng Man Sun - Orthopaedic Surgeon in Hertfordshire and London
Stephen Ng Man Sun is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in Paediatric (Children’s) Orthopaedic Surgery at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. His work is dedicated to treating children with musculoskeletal problems.
As a father of two, Stephen understands the worries of a parent when a child is injured or has a musculoskeletal problem and therefore provides a child-centred approach. Having played hockey at school to university level, he also appreciates how participating in sport and being active forms a very important part of a child’s or adolescent’s life. Our aim is therefore to restore your child’s ability to participate in these activities as soon as is safely possible.
Through his extensive training and experience, Mr Ng Man Sun has developed expertise in the management of:
Acute Sporting Injuries and Paediatric Trauma including fractures
Childhood Hip Conditions (Hip Dysplasia, SCFE, Perthe’s Disease)
Complex Foot Conditions (Clubfoot, Painful Flat Feet, Tarsal Coalitions, Less Toe Deformities)
Lower Limb Deformity Correction (Knocked Knees, Bow Legs)
Neuromuscular conditions
As well as providing non-surgical treatment (plaster casts or splints), he performs surgical procedures including fracture fixation, hip reconstruction and complex foot reconstruction.
